Our Organization's Structure
EVF is managed by firmly committed and capable professionals. These include its staff, Board of Trustees, a team of volunteer s and regional representatives. The EVF Management Structure consists of:
- The Board of Trustees: Consists of six members who in additional to professional track record have great passion for human rights and defense. Members provide advice and programme direction to the organization for a three-year term, renewable for a maximum of two consecutive terms.
- The Advisory Council: Made up of volunteers selected from within existing HRDs, Journalists and 'At-Risk-Groups' and networks that spreads across seven geographical regions of East Africa: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Burundi and Zanzibar.
- The Secretariat: The Programmes Executive Director coordinates the day-to-day implementation of EVF’s activities. The Project Manager implements EVF programs, supervises and oversees the programme staffs that include: the Protection Officers, Advocacy Officers, and Capacity-Building Officers. The team is supported by Finance and Administration Officers, Interns, Research Fellows and Volunteers.
- Special Representatives: Representing key thematic areas of concern to the EVF namely: Indigenous communities, women, human rights, people with disabilities and sexual minority groups.
- Advisory Council: The mandate of the Advisory Council is reviewed at the Annual General Assembly.
Community Development
The Enduring Voices Foundation (EVF) empowers Indigenous Communities, HRDs Networks, and Activists organizations’ staffs on: Train the Trainer’ (ToT) programmes, meant to complement their work in meeting the training needs of HRDs and other ‘At-Risk-Individuals’. Through the Skills Training and Capacity Building programs, EVF develops their capacity to: Monitor, document and report human rights violations, use of ICTs in human rights work, use of local and global human rights systems and mobilize local resources.
