FGM Awareness Caravan
Narok County - September 2016
On September 14th, 2016, The Talking Trees Project organized its 1st Caravan for FGM. The Caravan was the most successful one, which saw Johanna Lonyangapuo - a young Masaai Folklorist and 5 Masaai anti-FGM activists reaching over 20,000 roadside onlookers and nearly 2,000 young enthusiasts. |
The Moran Festival for FGM
In the event that took place in Kajiado County on 15th May 2017, the fight against FGM and other outdated cultural and traditional practices was emphasized. This event will be held annually to mark the struggle against Violence against women meted upon them through FGM.

Anti FGM Road Shows
With the Caravan for FGM, the Enduring Voices Foundation organized its 1st Road Show against FGM. The Road Show was the most successful one, which saw - anti-FGM activists FGM activists from Namanga reaching over 15,000 roadside onlookers and nearly 2,000 young enthusiasts.

FGM Disarmament Declarations
An Event Marking the Voluntary Public Declarations on Abandonment of FGM took place at the Regional Education Centre in Naijile Village, a large gathering that brought together indigenous women, Morans, village elders, village chief, village council and public health officers, to recognize and agree that the time had come to disarm and to end FGM Practices.

Alternative Rights Of Passage
The Enduring Voices Foundation brought together the pastoralists’ girls in Naadadapo village of Kajiado County, where they were engaged through an all inclusive participatory health forum and dialogue designed to enlighten and change their attitude towards FGM in order to embrace alternative rites of passage.

Alternative Income Initiative
In order not to feel left out of the initiatives, the “Talking Trees Project” and the Kenya Forest Service assisted the Masaai Morans to launch a pilot community Indigenous tree planting project.
